Today’s thoughts:
- Fall will be here soon, and that brings a major problem: new TV season. I used to look forward to fall with relish, excited to see my favorite shows return. But that all changes when you have young children. The window for wathcingf TV grows smaller for me, 8:30-10:00 every night. Thank god for DVR. And with half a dozen hour long shows and another half a dozen 1/2 sitcoms, plus jeopardy, it can be intimidating. Sure I am looking forward to my shows: Lost, Dexter, Lie to Me, 24, Bing Bang Theory. But the problem comes with trying to find the time, to catch up. I still haven’t found time to finish the last 6 hours of 24 from last year
- Staying on the TV theme, I am trying to decide whether or not to watch the new show Flash Forward this year. It is another show by the creators of Lost, i believe, where every blacks out for a couple of minutes and have visions when unconscious. Intriguing, but if it is as frustrating as Lost, I am thinking about waiting 6 years and watching it all on Blu-Ray
- Obama note of the day- you got to love this. Obama feels threatened by protesters carrying guns at a rally in Phoenix. I’ll admit, I don’t understand why people need to buy assault rifles… But I love when people flaunt their constitutional rights. Its refreshing after watching the Obama try to stamp them down. Guess what, guy, its usually not the guy carrying the gun in the open whose the problem- its the guy who bought a gun illegally and is hiding it. Talk about making something out of nothing.
- Animal loving couple from Georgia killed by pack of wild dogs. You gotta read it to believe it. Quite gruesome. Couple killed by wild dogs. All that was found was tattered clothing and blood.
- The Dems may have enough votes to force their version of healthcare, with a public option, through Congress, but do they have the balls. Because if it fails, when it fails, it will ruin the party for a long time. Good article here at Stop the ACLU
- Going to my wife’s sister’s house is disturbing. She has three little girls and something like an umbrella stand in the family room filled with naked, dismembered, decapitated doll parts. It is really bizarre. Now that I have a little girl, though she is far off from the doll phase, I am going to have to make sure that my house is not filled with the same stuff. It is quite a gruesome site. Torn apart by wild dogs?
- Thousands quit AARP. Good for them. Of course, I’m sure a lot of the people quitting the ranks of the AARP voted to put this imbecile in power. Great article here at Wizbang. I guess they are tyring to get on Gods good side before dying after realizing what a mistake they made.
- Brett Favre is like a bad guy in a horror movie: he just won’t stay dead. Someone needs to mangle his shoulder for good. or a knee. Anything. I am tired of this selfishness. We all know he was going to return, he just didn’t want to go to training camp and live in a dorm. Disgusting
- And finally, went to 7-11, a convenient store in the Northeast a couple of days ago, and I saw a middle-aged, white trash couple try to buya case of Red Bull, bags of Doritos and an armload of Tastycakes with food stamps. Red Bull with food stamps?!? This is where I love to see my tax money going. So poor people can go out and drink Re Bull, at $2.49 for a small can. I was surprised they didn’t try to buy cigars and condoms. Its always fun to watch my tax dollars get flushed down the toilet, being used to purchase after-getting-stoned food. We really need some form of drug testing before handing over food stamps to just anyone
