New Season of Spongebob Next Week

I admit itSB

I love Spongebob.  I have a Spongebob Clock hanging from the wall in my operatory.

If there is a kid in my chair, or the patient doesn’t care, I try to find Spongebob on Nick.

As we all know, Spongebob is a totally inappropriate cartoon for children ages 6-11.  It’s fine for younger kids, because they don’t understand, and it’s good for adults because… well… the show is really made for adults.  Butg there are so many bad lessons to be learned from Spongebob that any child of an impressionable age should NOT watch it.

What have I learned from spongebob?  That grave-robbing is acceptible, as is stealing and lying and cutting school.  All wonderful lessons.

Anyway, new season starts this week, and that means 5 new 12 minute episodes.  I will admit the past 2-3 years have been disappointing, from the simply unwatchable to the just plain wrong.  Remember 2 years ago, the episodes Normal and Gone, run back-to-back?  By far the most bizzare, creepy half an hour of Spongebob ever!  I mean, Spongebob makes a patrick figure out of crabby patty meat then sticks his hand inside and makes it speak.

And as for the half hour specials… Dunces and Dragons and Where’s Gary were excellent.  Then came Atlantis Squarepantis, which I felt was disappointing.  But after wtaching the 3 most recent movies, Pest of the West, Whobob Whatpants and SB vs the Big One, I am more appreciative of the david Bowie-led Atlanteans.

So I’ve got my fingers crossed that this new batch of episodes will be better than the pass few, but I keep my expectations low
