Watching the MLB All-Star game, i really, really wish I could like Barak Obama. He seems like a cool guy. You know, old enough to be the players’ older brother, not their father. He speaks well, he’s charismatic, he’s charming.
It’s just too bad he has no idea what what the hell he’s doing, and in an attempt to gain more government control over every aspect of our lives, he’s tightening that noose inch by inch with every passing day which will eventually kill us.
Americans are a funny people (and by funny, I mean… well, not funny. pathetic, to a degree.) I’m not gojng to say George Bush was saint. He did his fair share of dumb things (forget the war for a moment, that’s too convoluted even for me). He expanded government to a degree. He started this whole stimulus thing. But there are two major differences between Bush and Obama:
People are beginning got wise up, but the question is, is it too late? People were so desperate for change last October that they would have voted for a retarded Poodle is it had been running against Bush. But desperate people are scared people, and too often scared people choose immediate comfort, no matter how temporary and illusory, despite the ramifications down the road. people wanted change, but I don’t think that this was what they were hoping for.
We are in an economic crisis, and he only way to climb out of it is to give the middle class more moneyto spend to jump start small business again, whcih is turn will raise employment. Can someone please tell me how raising taxes, whether it be through cap-and trade, which will raise electric prices $1500-2000 a year per household, or to support healthcare, will help the economy?
And speaking of health care, the mainstream media tries to hide the truth from the common people. The 50 million people without insurance? 10 million are illegals, who shouldn’t get healthcrae because they are not citizens. Another 15 million or so? They are 18-34 years old and choose not to get insurance because they don’t feel that $10,000 a year for a single check up a year is a good investment, and I agree. They want catastrophic coverage in case their appendix bursts or they discover they have a weird genetic disease or, god forbid, cancer. And in truth, something has to be done for this group of people. And the rest of the uninsured? Many are between jobs and will soon get coverage as soon as they get a job, while many are already eligible for government aid but are too lazy to sign up. The amount of people who are actually in need is much, much, much smaller than the 50 million they tell us.
I’m not even going to get into healthcare hardcore right now- there will be another post on that in the next couple of days.
The crux of this article is just this: This is NOT what people wanted when they voted for Obama. Sure, when times are hard, people want a government that will provide for them and hold their hand. But once the good times roll again, they want the government to step back out of their lives. Because no one really wants Big Brother telling them what to eat and what medical procedures they can get. But with what Obama and Congress are currently proposing, once they get their talons into our lives this time around, they’re never coming out. And we’ll all be sorry.
Just look at the newest polls: liberals think the democrats are too liberal. Liberals think the government is spending too much money. People are starting to blame Obama for the economic crisis, not Bush. And the biggest sign that people were scared and blinded when they cats their vote for Obama, looking for something, anything, to cling to? Independents are jumping ship like rats off thr Titanic. States like Ohio and Virginia, traditionally Republican but more recently Democratic, are starting to feel stupid and a little ashamed for what they did. and they should. Because once Obama shuts down the coal plants, plunging states like Ohio into high unemployment, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.
Obama oferred us the world. Offered us utopia. Offered us a way out of the crisis that the Great Satan George Bush plunged us in to. Andall he’s done is plunge us deeper into Hell. Those of us who held onto our sanity and common sense during the election weren’t fooled by all of the rhetoric. But it’s no coincidence that the largest growing metro areas are Washington DC and Baltimore. Why? Because the only company hiring right now is the US Government. Pretty soon, there will be more people working in the public sector than private sector, and guess what? That’s just not sustainable.
American Idol Obama. Hollywood Obama. He’s the Manny Ramirez of the US government, loved for his charisma andantics despite his incompetence. I don’t think we asked for him. People just wanted anything but Bush because too many Americans as are just too uneducated to see beyond what the mainstream media tells them. And when your taxes go up andyour quality of life goes down, if you voted for this guy, you have no one to blame but yourself. And you better not cry because I’ll smack you.
I’m not against healthcare reform, we need it to soem degree, but not in the form of a governemnt run program. Has the government ever run a business well? Of course not. It has no real stake in suceeding. It can’t go bankrupt. It just raises taxes or prints more money. As for gojg green, of course we need to do it. But- Not- Now. Not when doing so will raise middle class taxes so much that we’ll never climb out of this recession. The middle class needs more money to spend on goods, not on taxes. Just imagine if cap-and-trade passes and your electirc company raises your taxes $150 a month. That’s $1800 dollars a year. That’s almost $2000 a year less per family to spend on things to stimulate the economy. The planet need to be saved (but global warming is BS) but right now is NOT the time to do so. Not at the cost that’s being proposed
It will create jobs, they say. Guess what? You know all those parts for windmills to harness the power of the wind? Most are built in other countries. The joke’s on us, I guess.
I’m not religious, but every night these days I pray that Obama doesn’t screw things up too much that they can’t be fixed. And I thank god, or whatever’s up there, for the blue dog Democratices who are doing their best to keep this lunatic from destroying us all.
Things could be worse, though.
Hillary could be president
