Angry Dentist’s Thoughts of the Day- Manson, Obama Song, Spanking, The Census

A couple of thoughts from today:

• Note to Scotland- This is how justice is administered.  Susan Atkins, a follower of Charles Manson, who was sentenced to jail for the murder of Sharon Tate, died in jail.  She was 61 and died of a brain tumor.  And she died less than 3 months after a parole board turned down her bid for compassionate release.  She died alone, ina  cold place, without the comfort of friends and family members.  As a murderer serving a sentence should.  Too often I feel that the US Justice system is too compassionate, too lenient.  But in this case, they got it right, and this woman was forced to rot away the last several months of her life in a jail hospital.  its no less than what she deserved.  This stands in stark contrast to what happened in Scotland several months ago, when the Lockerbie Bomber, sentenced for the murder of hundreds, was set free under the guise of compassionate release due to his terminal prostate cancer.  Like Atkins, the bomber should have been forced to spend his last days in a cold cell.  The difference?  Politics, of course.  I’m sure if an oil-rich country demanded Atkin’s release for American oil companies to have the right to drill, she would have been set free.  But she was just a dumb American with nothing to offer, so she suffered the fate of true justice.  The Lockerbie Bomber, coming from oil-rich Libya… well, oil deals bought his freedom.  And once again, the Scotland should be ashamed.  And for maybe the first time, an American parole board actually didn’t fuck up.

• Gotta love this story about how a study has shown that spanking children can cause a decrease in their IQ.  I have never read a bigger piece of crap in my life, and its not because of the basis hypothesis, that children who are spanked have a lower IQ.  This is probably untrue.  What I have a problem with is with the cause-and-effect assumptions of this stupid article.  Spanking causinga drop in IQ?  Some of the most brilliant serial killers in this country’s history were abused as children.  Can constant spanking turn a child violent?  Possibly.  Maybe probably.  But make their IQ, their innate intelligence and cognitive abilities drop?  I highly doubt that.  This seems to be on of those politically correct, new age, hippie, liberal pieces of crap designed to turn parents from spanking because its “cruel”.  And it may very will be, but I will not judge.  Back to the point… it never seemed to occur to the writer of this article, or the people who conducted this study, to think in the other direction.  Maybe, just maybe (sarcasm, of course), it may be that children with lower IQs have parents with lower IQs, and people with lower IQs resort to spanking more often instead of other forms of punishment.  This seems much more likely than spanking causing the loss of IQ.  I mean, really.  The idea of looking at intelligence and spanking as a cause and effect relationship instead of simply looking at the correlation is really ignorant, and this whole thing stinks of being agenda-driven instead of science-driven.  Who’s more likely to spank their child, the alcoholic truck driver or the school teacher?  The factory worker or the doctor?  People with higher IQs generally have children with high IQs, and people with high IQs generally don’t resort to violence, even something as innocuous as the occasional spanking.  So these “researchers”, if we can even call such a prejudiced group of people that, are manipulating their facts to prove a point instead of allowing the facts to point to the true conclusions.  I mean, get real.  If a person with a high IQ were to break the mold and spank his child regularly, I doubt you would get a a dimwit as the result.  More likely you would get a smart, resentful child ala Hannibal Lecter.  So don’t feed me this bullshit.

• And finally… another proud moment for the NJ educational system.  A video was recently released showing young children being indoctrinated into the “Obama is our Savior Club”.  Almost like the Hitler youth.    Some of the lyrics?  “MM, mm, mm! Barack Hussein Obama. He said that we all must lend a hand To make this country strong again”  Replace Obama with Hitler and country with Germany, and you know what it sounds like….  This was all done in secrecy.  In a  public school.  Without the parents permission.  The children can be heard praising the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama through song.  It is a horrible, chilling scene.  There is a reason we don’t teach politics to children this young.  They don’t have the cognitive ability to understand what they are hearing and what they are repeating.  they are, in essence, being brainwashed in our public schools to love Obama.  It is a sickening display, and the school board, which runs on tax dollars, appears to have no shame for doing this.  In fact, they are mad at the video being released.  its almost like Michael Vick; he’s not sorry for what he did, he’s sorry he was caught.  This entire school board which approved this little assembly needs to be torn down and new people appointed.  Can’t wait until more tax money is spent suing the school.  Watch below, if you dare.

• And finally, some poor guys trying to make a few extra bucks working for the census bureau, was found dead and naked and hanging from a tree while traveling around the poor eastern half a Kentucky.  You know, the part of the country that hates the government because they don’t believe anyone has the right to prevent them from growing marijuana and producing meth and doing other illegal things.  Anyway, in light of this, maybe we SHOULD allow ACORN to help conduct the census…

   The release of al-Megrahi was last month not several months ago. Compassionate release is part of Scots Law -

   I don’t agree with violence and we should do all in our power to foster a relationship of understanding and care. People are really willing to jump down each other’s votes about simple issues, but we really need to respect people’s opinions. I know that sounds way too happy, but fostering a relationship of trust on an ever denser planet must be paramount.
